The amazing Hearst Tower that was gutted and a NEW building put inside the old
structure. This type of new building is called a "Diagrid" pattern and uses 20% less steel than a conventional steel building. Using this style of architecture saves approx 2,000 tons of steel!

I love the old architecture!

The Cathedral of St John the Divine in New York City is the largest cathedral in the world (St Peters Basilica in Rome is larger, but it's not a cathedral).

Everything about Ste John the Divine is colossal, from its cavernous 601-foot-long nave (the length of two football fields), which can hold some 5,000 worshippers,
to its 162-foot-tall dome crossing, which could comfortably contain the Statue of Liberty.

The Peace Fountain depicts the struggle of good and evil. The forces of good, embodied in the figure of the archangel Michael, triumph by decapitating Satan, whose head hangs from one side. The fountain is encircled by small, whimsical animal figures
cast in bronze from pieces sculpted by children.

We got to eat lunch in Central Park!

Do you like my tail feathers?

The birds in Central Park were so friendly  and unafraid of humans. They would almost let you touch them. We fed quite a few birds and squirrells with our lunch bread. For me it was a chance to get a bunch of bird shots that I normally would have to have my big zoom for!
